Great TED Talk! Thanks for forwarding it. For me it opened up a few different channels of thought. The fighter pilot seat, one-size-fits-all problem analogy was great. I forwarded the video to my daughter, a California educator. But it also brought up some other things. I myself am familiar the US military and how professional they are. Specifically in engineering and technology research and development. I know of what I write. I have to say that certain elements of the private sector in this country could learn a great deal from their approach to problem solving. The one size fits all design is not only flawed when trying to fit an average system model, but its particularly maddening when a company, first of all has no intention of admitting a problem exists, that they created the problem however well intentioned, much less interested in solving it.

Like people, some businesses are just con artists that couldn’t care less if the thing they have designed and are selling actually works. All they seem to want is money devoid all ethics or ownership. Such a company would never willingly refund a red cent. I call this the Trump model of intentional deceit, fleece and never look back. Now, it’s bad enough when we encounter this, whether in commerce or our own personal lives. But when a person cons his way into becoming leader of free world? A chain reaction of that kinda thinking, of wannabe copycats are launched, who believe this is what American capitalism, politics and power is all about. This is a disease. And one with repercussions well into the next century. If in 30 days from now, on November 5th 2024, as voters we cannot see clearly enough, and find the gumption to put an end to the madness—needless to say at the ballot box as the founders, our ancestors intended—we will have only ourselves to blame. So research each party’s platform, make your choice, then vote. A brighter world awaits if we can find a way to do the right thing. Joseph George
