Nonlinear Thinking: Pessimistic? This is a MUST VIEW

This is a must view, folks.

Please take the 16 minutes to watch the video.  It could change your whole investment philosophy, what you trade,  and your worldview.

Peter Diamandis makes a case for optimism — that we’ll invent, innovate and create ways to solve the challenges that loom over us. “I’m not saying we don’t have our set of problems; we surely do. But ultimately, we knock them down.”

He said it himself in the presentation. Moore’s Law continues mostly uninterupted during good times and even during horrible times. He never said there will be no more horrible times. He just said there will be really cool new stuff. Of course there will. I am not going Full Monty on margin at the open tomorrow because this guy knows a guy who can desalinize water and that Masai warriors apparently have 4g capability.

      Frederick,
Good points and we’re never Full Monty when it comes to trading. Our optimism about the future, the result of transformative tech, doesn’t always translate into market optimism. Though it has driven our view on Apple as they lead this revolution, which we doubt very few realize is taking place.
Thanks for the post and reading the GMM.
      Cheers!

Great stuff, thank-you. You are correct, this is a must view.

Optimism is the new realism! (That should annoy the pessimists and hand-wringers).

knocking down problems, of late, has become more difficult because politicians are hell bent on self destruct. This was not the case a few years ago.
Eg.- auctioning of spectrum. The Masai tribesman has an advantage over us!

Exactly, KS… Politics can screw it all up…

Could somebody organize a brain storming session on how to knock down the problem of self serving politicians.
Perhaps, somebody could approach Prof Sandel to initiate something. For how much longer must we accept status quo.
