Tesla’s Head & Shoulders Formation

Tesla (TSLA)  looks to close below its 50-day moving average today, the first close below its 50-day since March and its big move up (see chart).  It is also testing the $160 neckline of a potential head and shoulders reversal.   A break of $160 sets up a measured move to $125.

We’re playing with risk reversals selling $175 calls/buying $155 puts.   Always with stops.   Stay tuned.

Apple Breaks Out

Nice to see one of our old faves trading better.  We sense Apple may become a “laggard of choice” as institutional investors look for ways to play catch up in their performance.

China’s rebound looks unsustainable – FT

The FT delivers up some chum for the Panda bears.   Self included.

China’s growth rate rose back to 7.8 per cent in the third quarter, but according to Liu Li-Gang, ANZ’s chief China economist, that growth still relies on investment more than consumption and the rebound is unlikely to continue.

He tells the FT’s Josh Noble that local government debt is a big potential problem and that he expects reforms to come out of next month’s political gathering in Beijing.
